Platform & Security Officer (AIPSO) Overview

The Platform & Security Officer (AIPSO) is an autonomous agent that watches over your Outermind platform configuration and security posture. It monitors for risk, proposes and (depending on your autonomy setting) applies changes, and keeps your IT admins informed through scheduled digests and instant alerts.

  • Configurable autonomy dial ranging from investigate-only to fully automatic low-risk changes, with manager approval required for higher-risk changes
  • Scheduled digests and alerts delivered to your IT admins on the cadence you choose
  • Multiple IT admin managers with one designated as primary contact

Availability​

AIPSO appears as its own dashboard section, separate from the main Getting Started onboarding flow. It is deferrable and only becomes available once you have completed:

  1. Configure AI Providers - At least one LLM provider must be configured
  2. Configure Safety Gateway - Required for content safety controls

The Escalation Router is not a prerequisite. Human-in-the-loop approvals work without a dedicated escalation mailbox; see Delivery Modes.

Email Channel​

AIPSO can have its own dedicated shared mailbox (for example, aipso@your-domain) so your managers can reach it by email. You assign this mailbox during the setup wizard or later from the Settings page.

  • Managers can email AIPSO at its mailbox address.
  • Mail from anyone else is ignored - AIPSO only processes messages from its managers, and non-manager senders receive no reply.
  • Inbound only for now - AIPSO reads inbound mail from its managers today; conversational email replies arrive in a later release.

Setting Up and Managing AIPSO​

Walk through the setup wizard to configure your managers, autonomy level, schedule, mailbox, and tools, then activate AIPSO. Activation is live: once you finish the wizard, AIPSO is created, starts monitoring on its schedule, and notifies your managers.

Once AIPSO has been set up, its ongoing status, autonomy dial, managers, monitored mailbox, tools, and lifecycle controls (pause, resume, terminate) are managed from the Platform & Security Officer section of the admin console, separate from the setup wizard.
