Choosing a Purchase Channel: Stripe or Microsoft Marketplace
When you convert your Outermind trial to a paid plan, you can pay with a credit card through Stripe or purchase through the Microsoft Marketplace as part of your Azure or Microsoft 365 commitment. Both options appear side by side wherever you can start a paid subscription.
Overview
Outermind sells through two peer channels, and neither is assumed for you. Every place in the console where a trial tenant can go paid presents the same choice: Stripe (pay by card, billed by Outermind) or Microsoft Marketplace (billed through your Microsoft account, counts toward your Azure or Microsoft Customer Agreement commitment). You pick the channel that fits how your organization already buys software.
Where you'll see this choice
The same Stripe / Marketplace choice appears on every surface that offers you a paid plan while you're on a trial:
- Administration > Subscription, in the Choose Your Plan grid.
- The trial banner's Add Payment Method call to action, shown near the top of the console while your trial is active.
- The trial expired dialog, if your trial ran out before you upgraded.
- The Upgrade page reached from plan-limit prompts elsewhere in the console.
Wherever it appears, selecting a plan is disabled until you pick a channel — there's no default, so you always choose deliberately.
Paying with Stripe
Choose Stripe to pay by credit card, billed directly by Outermind. Your existing card on file (if any) can be reused, or you'll be prompted to enter one. This is the right choice if you'd rather manage Outermind as its own line item rather than through your Microsoft spend.
Buying through Microsoft Marketplace
Choose Microsoft Marketplace to be taken to the Outermind offer in Azure Marketplace or AppSource. Purchasing there applies the charge to your organization's Azure or Microsoft Customer Agreement commitment instead of a separate card charge. You'll complete the purchase in the Microsoft portal, and Outermind picks up billing status automatically once Microsoft confirms it.
The Marketplace option is only shown when Outermind has a Marketplace offer configured for your plan and region. If it isn't available to you, only Stripe is shown.
Already billed through the Marketplace?
If your subscription is already active through Microsoft Marketplace, you won't see this choice again. Instead, conversion and upgrade surfaces show a link to manage your subscription from the Microsoft 365 admin center, since plan and payment changes for a Marketplace subscription are made there, not in Outermind.
FAQ
Can I switch channels later? Changing from Stripe to Marketplace (or back) isn't self-service today. Contact Outermind support if you need to move your subscription to a different channel.
Why don't I see the Marketplace option? It's hidden if Outermind hasn't published a Marketplace offer for your plan or region, or if your subscription is already active through the Marketplace (in which case you'll see a management link instead).
Does the price differ between channels? Pricing is equivalent; the difference is who bills you and how the charge is applied to your existing commitments.
