Credits-Low Banner

If your tenant is billed through Microsoft Marketplace and runs its agents on Outermind's included AI credits, the console warns you before those credits run out, with an estimate of how many days you have left.

Overview

Marketplace tenants can run their agents on Outermind-provided AI credit instead of connecting their own LLM provider key. That credit is finite, so once your balance gets low, a dismissible banner appears near the top of the console with an estimate of how many days of usage remain and a shortcut to connect your own provider key.

The banner only appears for:

  • Tenants on a Microsoft Marketplace subscription.
  • Admins with permission to change settings.
  • Tenants still running on Outermind credit — once you connect your own provider key, the banner no longer applies.

It is not shown on mobile, and it does not appear for tenants whose Azure AI Foundry connection is armed to take over automatically; that handoff happens for you before credits are exhausted.

What you'll see

The banner appears next to the trial banner at the top of every main console area (Boardroom, Administration, Workforce, Capabilities, Governance, and the Personal Assistant hub).

  • Low balance: a yellow warning banner reading "About N days of AI credits left," where N is estimated from your average daily spend over the last 7 days.
  • Critical / exhausted balance: the same banner escalates to a red error style, reading "Your Outermind AI credits have run out" once the balance is depleted.
  • If there isn't yet enough usage history (fewer than 3 days) to estimate a days-left figure, the banner shows a generic "running low" message instead of a day count.

Each banner has a Connect your provider key link, which takes you to Setup to add your own LLM provider.

Dismissing the banner

Click the X on the banner to dismiss it. The dismissal lasts for your current browser session — it reappears the next time you sign in if your balance is still low. Dismissing it does not pause usage or change your balance.

FAQ

Why don't I see this banner even though I'm on Marketplace billing? Check that you have settings-write permission, that you're on a desktop viewport, and that you haven't already connected your own LLM provider key. If your Azure AI Foundry connection is armed, Outermind switches you over to it automatically before showing this banner.

How is "days left" calculated? It's your current credit balance divided by your average daily spend over the trailing 7 days. With less than 3 days of usage history, Outermind doesn't have enough data to estimate a day count and shows a generic warning instead.

What happens when my credits actually run out? If you have an armed Azure AI Foundry connection, Outermind switches your agents over to it automatically. Otherwise, agent runs that need an LLM call will fail until you connect a provider key from Setup.

Does dismissing the banner stop it from ever showing again? No. Dismissal only lasts for your current browser session.
