Bulk Enable Customers

The Bulk Enable feature lets MSP partners activate Outermind for multiple customers at once. Select any number of customers from the customer list, choose a default tier, and confirm Customer Terms once to provision all selected accounts in a single operation.

Overview

Rather than enabling customers one at a time, partners can:

  • Select up to dozens of customers from the customer list using the checkboxes
  • Click Enable Selected to open the Bulk Enable modal
  • Apply a default tier to all selected customers, with per-customer overrides available
  • Accept Customer Terms once, covering all customers in the batch
  • Review the monthly cost summary before confirming

Each customer is provisioned independently in the background. If one customer fails, the rest continue unaffected.

Step-by-Step

1. Select Customers

On the Customers page, check the boxes next to the customers you want to enable. The Enable Selected button appears in the toolbar once at least one customer is checked.

2. Open the Modal

Click Enable Selected. The Bulk Enable modal opens with the title showing the count of selected customers (e.g. "Enable Outermind for 5 customers").

3. Set a Default Tier

Use the Default tier dropdown to choose the tier that will apply to all selected customers. Available tiers and their prices are shown in the dropdown.

4. (Optional) Override Per-Customer Tiers

Expand the Per-customer overrides section to see each customer listed individually. Use the tier dropdown next to any customer to assign a different tier. Customers without an override keep the default tier.

5. Accept Customer Terms

Check I accept the Customer Terms on behalf of all selected customers. You can click the link to read the full terms before accepting. Terms acceptance is recorded once, covering all customers in the batch, as required by ADR-009.

6. Review the Cost Summary

The modal shows a monthly cost summary: the count, price per customer, and monthly total (e.g. 5 x $49 = $245/month). Verify this before confirming.

7. Confirm

Click Enable Customers. The modal submits the request and the provisioning jobs are queued. You will see a confirmation message when the request is accepted.

Progress tracking and per-customer status updates are shown on the customer list after the modal closes (results may take a moment to appear as provisioning runs in the background).

Error Handling

If one or more customers fail to provision, the remaining customers are unaffected. Failed customers will show a status of Failed on the customer list, with an error message explaining what went wrong. You can retry failed customers individually from their customer detail page.

FAQ

Can I mix tiers across customers in the same batch? Yes. Set a default tier for most customers, then expand the per-customer overrides section to assign a different tier to specific customers.

Do I need to accept Customer Terms separately for each customer? No. A single Customer Terms acceptance in the modal covers all customers in the batch, as permitted by the MSP Partner Agreement.

What happens if I close the modal while provisioning is running? The provisioning jobs continue in the background. You can close the modal safely - the customer list will update as jobs complete.

How many customers can I enable at once? There is no hard limit imposed by the portal, but large batches may take longer to process. The Partner Center API rate limit is respected automatically.

Why is a customer still showing as "Pending" after a long time? Check the customer detail page for error details. If the status has not changed after 15 minutes, contact support.
