ActiveCampaign

Connecting ActiveCampaign's MCP server lets your agents work with your ActiveCampaign account: contacts, deals and pipelines, tags, lists, automations, campaigns, custom fields and bulk operations. The server documents 53 tools, and ActiveCampaign has added about 14 newer ones. Each ActiveCampaign account has its own server, so you type your account's host when you connect.

Read How MCP Servers Work in Outermind first if you have not connected an MCP server before.

Before you start

  • An ActiveCampaign account, on any plan, and its host, as it appears in your account's address, for example yourorg.activehosted.com.
  • An ActiveCampaign user to sign in as. The connection acts as the ActiveCampaign user who signs in, so agents can do what that user's permissions allow. Connect with a user whose permissions cover what you want agents to do, and no more.
  • A tenant admin in Outermind to run the wizard and grant the tools.

ActiveCampaign connects with an OAuth sign-in only. Its MCP server does not accept an ActiveCampaign API key.

Prepare ActiveCampaign

Nothing to prepare. Outermind registers itself with ActiveCampaign automatically when you connect.

Connect in Outermind

  1. Open the Capabilities hub, click MCP Servers under Tool Management, and click Add MCP server.
  2. Under Known server, pick the ActiveCampaign entry (shown with the host *.activehosted.com). The wizard shows "Enter your account host under activehosted.com, then sign in and approve." and the expected sign-in is OAuth sign-in. Optionally edit Purpose, the one-line description agents see beside this server.
  3. Instead of an endpoint, the wizard asks for an Organisation host. Type your account's host only, such as yourorg.activehosted.com, with no https:// and no path. Outermind builds the endpoint https://yourorg.activehosted.com/api/agents/mcp/http from it, and refuses a host that is not under activehosted.com. Click Next.
  4. On Credential, the wizard says "Outermind registers itself with this server automatically when you connect." Click Connect, sign in to ActiveCampaign as the user the connection should act as, and approve.
  5. On Summary, Outermind discovers the account's tools and makes them active. Under Grant tools to agents, pick an agent to choose an access level for each one; to leave a tool out, use the connection page afterwards.

Outermind has verified ActiveCampaign's server against an account in ActiveCampaign's US-1 data region. Accounts hosted in other ActiveCampaign regions use the same steps but have not been tested yet.

What your agents can do

Agents can:

  • find, create and update contacts;
  • work with deals and pipelines;
  • add tags, and manage lists;
  • work with automations;
  • work with campaigns, including drafting a campaign with ActiveCampaign's AI;
  • manage custom fields;
  • run bulk operations.

Read actions start at tier low, and every other action starts at high; see Risk tiers.

warning

Campaign, automation and bulk tools can email your contacts or change many records at once. Keep them at tier high, and exclude them on the connection page unless agents genuinely need them.

What is not available

The following action is not available through this server:

  • Remove tag. Agents can add a tag to a contact, but cannot remove one.

Billing notes

ActiveCampaign's MCP server is available on every ActiveCampaign plan. Outermind knows of no separate charge for using it, and calls are not charged per call the way Zapier counts tasks.
