Affinity

Connecting Affinity's hosted MCP server lets your agents work with relationship intelligence: companies, people, lists, notes and the pipelines your organisation tracks on them. Affinity does not open its hosted MCP server's OAuth sign-in to an arbitrary application, so, like Salesforce, you register Outermind as an OAuth client in your own Affinity account before you connect.

Read How MCP Servers Work in Outermind first if you have not connected an MCP server before.

Before you start

  • An Affinity account with Manage Apps or OAuth client administration access.
  • A tenant admin in Outermind to run the wizard and grant the tools.

Prepare Affinity

Affinity has no self-service dynamic registration for a new MCP client, so you register Outermind yourself.

  1. In your Affinity account, open Settings and register a new OAuth client for Outermind, adding the Outermind redirect URIs below as its allowed callback URLs. If your plan or account does not expose this option, ask Affinity to register one for you.
  2. Copy the client's client ID and client secret. Keep the secret safe.
https://us-api.outermind.ai/api/mcp-oauth/callback
https://uk-api.outermind.ai/api/mcp-oauth/callback
https://eu-api.outermind.ai/api/mcp-oauth/callback
https://au-api.outermind.ai/api/mcp-oauth/callback
https://qa-api.outermind.ai/api/mcp-oauth/callback
http://localhost:4071/api/mcp-oauth/callback

Outermind signs in through the URI for the region your Outermind organisation is hosted in, so that one is required. Adding the four production URIs (US, UK, EU and AU) covers every region. The QA and local development URIs, the last two above, serve only Outermind's own test environments, so add them only if Outermind support asks you to.

Connect in Outermind

  1. Open the Capabilities hub, click MCP Servers under Tool Management, and click Add MCP server.
  2. Under Known server, pick Affinity (mcp.affinity.co). The endpoint https://mcp.affinity.co/mcp is filled in, the wizard shows "Register an OAuth client for Outermind in your Affinity account and paste its client ID and secret." and the expected sign-in is OAuth sign-in. Optionally edit Purpose, the one-line description agents see beside this server. Click Next.
  3. On Credential, the wizard says "This provider needs an application created in your own account; you will supply its client ID and secret." Paste the OAuth client's client ID and client secret. Click Connect, sign in to Affinity as the user the connection should act as, and approve.
  4. On Summary, Outermind discovers Affinity's tools and makes them active. Under Grant tools to agents, pick an agent to choose an access level for each one; to leave a tool out, use the connection page afterwards.

What your agents can do

Agents can search and read companies, people and lists, follow the entries on a list and the fields tracked on them, read and add notes, and find related records across your relationship data. Read actions start at tier low, and a create, update or delete action starts at high; see Risk tiers.

What is not available

Affinity's hosted MCP server is a separate product surface from Outermind's native Affinity CRM connector; a tool the native connector offers is not automatically available here, and the reverse.

Billing notes

Outermind knows of no separate Affinity charge for using the MCP server beyond your existing Affinity plan.
